Alumni Outcomes

Geology students with a hammer in pose in front of a wall of rock

About half of GW Geological Sciences Program alumni go on to pursue advanced degrees at top universities, in fields like emergency disaster management, social policy, earth science and geophysics. Others work in environmental law and services, civil engineering, tourism, education, conservation, architecture and construction, international business and much more.

The program is pleased to have had the opportunity to mentor our former students, and we take great pride in their various accomplishments.

"The GW Geological Sciences Program not only taught me about geology but also other intangible skills that are useful for a professional geologist. The field experience, scientific inquiry skills and effective communication techniques that I gained during my days as a geology student opened up the opportunity for me to work at the prestigious PETRONAS company."
