How to Declare a Major or Minor
- Meet with the Geological Sciences Program’s undergraduate director. Students are encouraged to declare during the second semester of their sophomore year.
- Fill out a Declaration of Major/Minor Form from the CCAS Undergraduate Academic Advising Office with the undergraduate advisor during your meeting.
- Submit the signed declaration form to the Academic Advising Office.
To be considered for graduation with special honors and earn the designation of Honors on their transcript, geology students must:
- Meet GW’s general special honors requirements.
- Hold a minimum GPA of 3.3 overall and 3.3 within the major
- Submit an approved honors thesis
